What is an IP Address?

Every connected device on internet has a unique address where they can communicate with each other. It is comparable to a postal address. This tool show your current assigned IP address and determine the GeoLocation of your IP address, powered by IP Geolocation API and Mapbox API.

The Internet Assigned Numbers Authority assigns IP addresses to regional internet registries (RIRs). The RIRs assign them to Internet Service Providers. Internet Service Providers then assign IP addresses to their customers. Read more on Wikipedia.
